New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte is still a co-sponsor and supporter of PIPA–the Protect Intellectual Property Act. It is the Senate counterpart of SOPA–the House’s Stop Online Piracy Act. Both measures would allow the Federal Government to shut down websites without warrant on the mere allegation of copyright infringement.
Both bills have been the subject of an online protest websites such as Wikipedia, Reddit, Craig’s List, and internet giant Google.
Earlier today, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida withdrew his co-sponsorship and support of PIPA but Kelly Ayotte has, as of this writing, been silent.
Ayotte’s support of this bill is a disgrace and it’s certainly not endearing her to the TEA Party supporters that helped elect her. She can be contacted through her website via telephone and email or through her official Twitter account.
