This past Saturday, I once again had the pleasure of being a guest panelist on Niel Young’s “The Advocates” on WEZS 1350AM in Laconia, New Hampshire. One of Niel’s scheduled guests was Myrna Sokoloff, one of the writers and executive producers of the new David Zucker film, “An American Carol.”
The American spirit is celebrated in the outrageous and totally irreverent comedy An American Carol from David Zucker, the master of questionable taste (Airplane!, The Naked Gun, Scary Movie 3 and 4).
In An American Carol a cynical, Anti-American Hollywood filmmaker sets out on a crusade to abolish the 4th of July holiday. He is visited by three spirits who take him on a hilarious journey in an attempt to show him the true meaning of America.
This movie is a comedy opening in wide-release on more than 2,000 screens this coming Friday, October 3rd. It is a film written by, produced by and starring Hollywood conservatives. It stars names like Kelsey Grammar, Kevin Farley, Jon Voight and Dennis Hopper, among others.
Finally, a movie that articulates our view instead of the normal Leftist tripe that Hollywood churns out year after year!
Myrna was only going to join us for a few minutes but wound up talking with us for just over half an hour! Hear her interview with host Niel Young, guest panelist Judy Krahulec and me as she talks about writing and filming the comedy, as well as some anecdotes from the film’s production. This looks like a very funny film and I’m looking forward to seeing it this coming weekend. I hope you are, too.
“Laugh like your country depends on it,” indeed!
