Barack Rolling…

(Hat Tip: Hot Air)

Perhaps you’ve heard of “Rick-Rolling?”

It’s an prank of sorts where you dupe someone into viewing the music video for or listening to the 1987 hit song “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley.  The unsuspecting victim is then described as having been “Rick-rolled.”

For example, callers to my personal cell phone hear that particular piece of music before I pick up the line.  I smile every time my phone rings knowing that I’ve subjected someone to that song.

Well, here’s a version I won’t be using…

(If you are unable to see the embedded cool moves of Pope Barack I above, please click here to view the video on YouTube.)

A couple of observations here…

What a phenomenal effort by the person who compiled this. It is absolutely hilarious.

Who would have thought that Ellen would have better dance moves than Obama?  I mean, seriously…did you see that?  He’s not even trying.  I have better moves than Barack Obama.  Now that’s saying something.

Actually, it kind reminded me of David Alan Grier’s portrayal of Don “No-Soul” Simmons in the wonderfully irreverent cult-classic film ”Amazon Women on the Moon” which also came out in 1987, I might add.  (I smell a trend here.  Also the year I was graduated from high school…yet, I digress.)

Blame it on the bossa nova, indeed…
