Let’s Say Thanks…

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, folks. Next week, in fact. Hard to believe, isn’t it?
I will be traveling to the great state of Georgia to spend the holiday with my sister and her family. It is a trip that has become tradition for all of us and it reminds me personally of my blessings and of the things for which I am thankful.
There are others who cannot travel to be with loved ones for the Thanksgiving holiday: our men and women in uniform. Now is the perfect time to give thanks to them, too.
The Xerox Corporation has set up a website that will do just that. Let’s Say Thanks allows you to select a post card design and select a message which will be sent–free of charge–to a serviceman at random. The designs of the postcards are from school children across America.
I’m not sure how long this site has been in existence, but I only found out about it because a friend sent me the link in email. Apparently they’ve sent about 5,000,000 messages of thanks already!
Let’s see what we all can do to ratchet that number up a little, shall we? Please…take a few moments to send a postcard to one of our troops. I guarantee you they will appreciate your message and your gratitude.
Let’s Say Thanks, indeed.
