Veterans’ Day…

This is one of those days on the calendar that I feel has been given a name for a specific reason. I view Veterans’ Day as an almost sacred day, in a sense.
Why? Well, it’s the day that we, as a nation, have set aside to honor those who have honored us with their service. It’s a day of thanks and remembrance for those who have had the courage, the honor and the patriotism to wear the uniform of this country and defend the nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
You and I enjoy a way of life that we could not enjoy in any other nation. We have freedoms and rights that no other country on this Earth has because of the men and women who serve in our armed forces. We owe our vets nothing less than our eternal gratitude.
Please…make this more than a day where car dealers have good deals. Make it more than the day that banks are closed. Make it a day that a veteran will remember for the rest of their lives. Walk up to them, look them straight in the eye, shake their hand and say, “Thank you for your service to the United States.”
It really is that simple. I guarantee you that you’ll both walk away with something that will mean a lot to both of you for years to come.
Our veterans are a national treasure. Please give them your thanks on this Veterans’ Day.
I offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to each and every person who has served this country with honor. You are the best our nation has to offer and we, as a nation, could never do enough to show our gratitude.
Happy Veterans’ Day.
