California Electoral Vote Bill Vetoed…

Cal-ee-FOR-NEE-uh governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has vetoed a bill that would have awarded the Golden State’s votes in the Electoral College to the winner of the national popular vote instead of the candidate who actually won a majority in the state.
This is exactly what he should have done. It is the absolute right call.
This initiative which is being attempted in several states is a knee-jerk reaction to what happened in the 2000 election between Al Gore and George W. Bush. People forget that the Electoral College was designed this way on purpose. It’s not an injustice and none of the five elections that were “upside down” were stolen.
Bills like the one vetoed by Schwarzenegger would actually make the voices of the voters in each state irrelevant by going with the winner of the national popular vote regardless of who won (in this case) California.
The Libs have got to let go. It was SIX years ago. Get over it already. Our electoral process is not broken. There are just plenty of ignorant people who don’t understand how the thing is supposed to work.
