New Hampshire Bumped to Third…

In its infinite wisdom, the Democrat National Committee has seen fit to add another primary season contest between Iowa and New Hampshire, pushing the Primary here to third place on the calendar.
Under the new schedule set forth by the Rules and Bylaws Committee of the DNC, the caucuses in Iowa would still take place eight days before the New Hampshire Primary. However, a new caucus in Nevada would now be added to take place five days after Iowa—a mere three days before the contest here in the Granite State.
Manchester Union Leader – Democrats add Nevada caucus before NH
This is all in spite of the fact that leading Democrats like John Kerry, Joe Biden and even former President Bill Clinton have recommended that no change be made.

Civil rights activist Donna Brazile also backed the District of Columbia. Nevada, however, received 20 votes among the 28 members voting yesterday to secure the early caucus. Arizona received five votes, the District of Columbia, two; and Michigan, one.

Brazile, who has been a leader in the move to bring more diversity to the early calendar, at one point expressed frustration with New Hampshire’s insistence it remain not only the first primary, but that it also follow no caucus other than Iowa’s.

“I respect Mr. Gardner,” she said, but added, “I really don’t care what Mr. Gardner will do. Godspeed. We will do what we have to do.”

So, Donna Brazile is now described as a “civil rights activist.” That does sound so much better than “failed political strategist,” doesn’t it? Apparently, sticking it to New Hampshire could very well be the only successful political undertaking she’s engaged in during the last 25 years.
One thing is for sure: now that the DNC has seen fit to insert another contest between Iowa and New Hampshire, some other state is going to schedule its Primary right around New Hampshire, if not before.
The Democrats won’t stop until New Hampshire is absolutely irrelevant in the electoral process.
