Think of the terms you have heard over the past couple of years when Iraq has been discussed by Congress.
Failure.
Mistake.
Quagmire.
Based on that, you’d think that every Democrat in the Senate would be voting to bring the troops home, right? Yeah, I thought so, too. Imagine my surprise when I read this story today:
Yahoo! News | Senate rejects U.S. troop pullout in Iraq
So, not only did the Senate reject the pullout, they voted in overwhelming fashion to the tune of 93-6.
Ninety-three to SIX.
Only six United States Senators voted to pullout of Iraq and bring the troops home. That’s it. It’s no surprise that these are the names that voted no. (A “no” vote was a vote to bring the troops home.)
Barbara Boxer (D-CA)
Robert Byrd (D-WV)
Russ Feingold (D-WI)
Tom Harkin (D-IA)
Ted Kennedy (D-MA)
John Kerry (D-MA)
The United States Senate has 44 Democrats, folks. FORTY-FOUR. (Well, 45 if you count Jim Jeffords of Vermont, but we’ll stay with 44 for now.) Now, I never claimed to be a math major, but my public school education tells me that the remaining 38 Democrats voted to keep the troops right where they are.
You know this has to be driving the Kos Krowd to absolute apoplexy. There are now 38 Democrats who, in their mind, have wandered off the moonbat reservation–and that’s got to be a worse injustice to them than the Karl Rove not being indicted.
This has not been a very good week for the Lefties, and this is just adding insult to injury in their minds. For a party that’s trying to send a message and take seats back in the mid-term elections, they’re doing a poor job of getting everybody on the same page.
