Profiles in Vermouth…

So, I’m back from the mountains and I’m sitting here drinking my coffee and an undisclosed Denver-area location, and I stumble across this story:
BREITBART.com | Sen. Kennedy to Publish Children’s Book
Amazingly enough, it’s NOT a bartending book for children! Senator Edward M. Kennedy and his dog are the “co-protagonists” of My Senator and Me: A Dogs-Eye View of Washington, D.C. The book, published by Scholastic–the publisher of the Harry Potter books–will take children through a day in the life of the senior Senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and explain how a bill becomes a law.
The Senator’s dog is a Portuguese Water Dog named Splash, which is just completely unfortunate on so many levels.
So, Teddy is going to take kids through his day, huh? I can’t wait to see how this is cleaned up for the kids. How do you explain a three-olive lunch to children in elementary school? Or, perhaps there will be an entire chapter devoted to the benefits of riverside prayer and how it can get you out of legal entanglements?
The proceeds from the Kennedy book will be donated to charity. There is no word, however, on whether that charity is Alcoholics Anonymous.
