October Surprise…

Six days are all that remains of the campaign season. Six days from today, Americans will go to the polls to elect a president. It’s right about now that someone likes to drop an “October Surprise.”

Of Presidential Electors… and Bigger Things

Like clockwork, we find ourselves facing a quadrennial assault on the Constitution. Every presidential election cycle, the debate over our electoral system of choosing the president is reinvented. And every time, I end up muttering to no one in particular about the one-sidedness of the portrayal of the debate.

The Best Political Poll You’ll Ever See…

The most interesting and possibly most accurate poll I’ve ever seen was released today on the ABC News website. The headline, which caught me totally by surprise, appears below:

Poll Position…

Here we are…just about two weeks away from Election Day. We’ve been treated to a lot of information since the last Presidential Debate telling us how both candidates are in a dead heat. Since Friday afternoon, however, the polling data has been just a little more interesting.

Once, Twice, Three Times a Circus…

So…did you see the third debate between John Kerry and George W. Bush on Wednesday night? I’m hoping you did. It was by far the best of the three and probably the most tell-tale about both men. I mean, forget the spin. Ignore the sound bites. Discount the commentary from the talking heads of television news. All you needed to see to get an accurate picture of these two men was to see the reply to one question.

525,600 Minutes: ConBlog at One Year…
